About
Repay Desk is written for people who are already mid-loan rather than deciding whether to take one. Early settlement, refinancing arithmetic, consolidation trade-offs, and what hardship programmes actually offer — the repayment side of a relationship that most publishers only cover at the application stage.
Who writes here
The site is edited by Yvonne Straker, a disclosed house pen name maintained by our editorial team — the Economist model, stated openly rather than hidden. Reviews run under the editor's byline; news runs under “Staff, Repay Desk.” We publish no fabricated author biographies and claim no credentials we do not have — see the editorial policy for how the bylines work.
How this site is funded
Repay Desk is an independent, commercially supported publication. We may earn affiliate or advertising revenue from links on the site. That revenue never dictates our conclusions: scores, pros and cons are editorial judgments, sponsored material is always disclosed with the post, and no verdict can be bought. Commercial enquiries go through the advertise page.
Who this is for
We write for borrowers with an existing balance who want clear arithmetic and no sales pitch.
How we work
Our worked examples are illustrations with stated assumptions, never quotes, offers or predictions of what a reader will be charged — and the arithmetic in them is checked. Product mechanics come from lenders' published terms and from regulator guidance, attributed. We never encourage borrowing, and where debt difficulty is the subject we point towards free, non-commercial help rather than a commercial product.
What this publication is not
Repay Desk is a publisher. We are not a lender, a broker, a debt-management firm or an adviser, and nothing here is financial advice. Our worked examples are illustrations with stated assumptions — never quotes, offers, or predictions of what any reader will be charged. Use lenders licensed in your own jurisdiction, and verify that licence yourself.
Corrections
If we have published an error — a figure, a date, a term, anything — we want to know. Reach the editorial desk via the contact page. Corrections are the fastest queue we run, and material ones are noted in the post.
